Abstract
The present work studies a concrete aspect of the Latin epitaphs of Hispania Citerior: the epithets fiven to the wife. Their different semantic content and diversity in applications for social and economic status of women, reveals a different account of the wife ingenua, serva, liberta or peregrina .
