Abstract

Ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna array has been proposed in this paper as a solution for breast cancer early detection. This antenna array element consists of two circular patches, each having a multi resonator and a notch cut fed by a 50-ohm microstrip line, and a partial ground plane. Furthermore, UWB multi-stage Wilkinson equal power divider. The proposed antenna array has been simulated by CST microwave studio, fabricated, and measured. The measurements have a good agreement with the simulated results. Where the antenna element has an impedance bandwidth (BW) of about 9.5 GHz (2.2 GHz – 12 GHz). Moreover, the antenna array has 8GHz BW (2.2GHz-10.2 GHz). Furthermore, this array has been tested as a good solution by using a system of two of these arrays and a breast model.
