Abstract

Since the death of Derrida, the question of politics is at the forefront of debates about deconstruction. This article covers the main criticisms that Derrida's work on the political has received. The argument put forward is that these thinkers assimilate Derrida and Levinas thoughts, which leads to describe the political aspect of deconstruction as «utopian», «useless» or «aporetic». However, a closer reading taking charge of Derrida's writings published posthumously, reveals both his objections to the thought of Levinas and the political implications of deconstruction.
