Abstract

The article deals with the social and political ideas of the great Azerbaijani philosopher and thinker of the XII century Nizami Ganjavi whose rich creative heritage was included in the golden fund of world literature; the evolutionary process of the development of his views on forms of state is characterized - from the preaching of an enlightened monarchy to democracy. The thinker’s views on the utopian state, Nizami’s vision of an ideal state, the life and activities of its citizens, characteristics of the social system are the focus of attention.
