Abstract

Abstract Household waste, both organic and inorganic, is a serious problem today, both in cities and rural areas. Likewise, in Dukuh (Hamlet) Kasihan 1, Ngentakrejo , Lendah Kulon Progo, currently each family member deals with waste. There are those who feel they have a large yard so they just throw garbage in the garden/yard and then burn it and there are those who dig holes in the yard. The community does not sort it out so both organic and inorganic waste are put together. In this regard, the authors and KKN (Community Service Program) students conducted counseling on waste management followed by making biopores for organic waste. The first method conducted was counseling, the second was installing a biopore sample in the yard of the hamlet leader’s house. The targets of this activity were the Women Farmers Group (KWT) and the association of the gentlemen of Dukuh Kasihan 1. In the first implementation, counseling was carried out regarding environmental pollution caused by waste and the benefits of biopores and methods for making biopores. In the practice of making biopores which was attended by KWT women and men, a sample was made in two holes. Biopores were planned to be made in each Neighborhood Association (RT). The community was very enthusiastic, especially since it could produce very useful fertilizer.
