Abstract
Nursing students rarely have the opportunity to witness nurse-to-nurse collaboration with nurses from differing specialties. Simulation can provide students with an opportunity to practice this important skill. In this simulation, students from a critical care course and students from a maternal/newborn course worked together to care for a pregnant client with COVID-19. The client's condition required expertise from both an obstetrical nurse and a critical care nurse. Although the design of the simulation was aimed at collaboration, various other important observations and teaching moments were uncovered during the implementation of the simulation.
