Abstract

A survey conducted among health professionals, mostly practicing clinical psychologists, indicated that while the majority do not refer clients to sexual surrogates, most would do so if such referral were clarified as legal. Youthfulness and previous referral experience were found to be associated with willingness to employ a surrogate partner. The results are discussed within the context of the recent decision by Masters and Johnson to discontinue the use of surrogates.
