Abstract

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is the most attractive technique for 4G wireless communication systems. The concept of OFDM is mostly applied in Digital communications in order to achieve high data rates. The important drawback of OFDM systems is high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). High PAPR of the OFDM systems offers clipping noise,warping effect and energy spilling into adjacent channels.Hence the PAPR is minimised before the transmission is carried out. The proposed work is based on PAPR reduction by the utilization of Riemann matrix combined with Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). PAPR technique applied in this work is Selective mapping method (SLM). PAPR comparison is carried out with Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT). Simulation result shows that Riemann matrix combined with discrete wavelet transform gives good results when compared to the application of Discrete cosine transform.
