Abstract

The service performance of the polymer-cement-based coating in the marine environment is unsatisfactory, mainly due to the poor anti- deteriorated and anti-UV aging properties. In this paper, a high-performance polymer cement-based coating was fabricated mainly based on the harmless introduction of PDMS and its enhancing effect on hydrophobicity and UV aging resistance. The thick coating exhibits good mechanical properties while having an internal CA > 130° and 99.3 % of anti- deteriorated efficiency. After UV aging and saltwater immersion, the coating still maintains a dense-intact internal microstructure and a lower loss ratio of properties. The relative mechanisms were also revealed.
