Abstract

Continuous expansion of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market is associated with several advantages typical for LNG transportation over compressed gas transportation and pipeline natural gas transportation. The main objective of introduction of LNG production and delivery technology is ensuring steady development of the energy industry. To reduce thermal pollution, it is expedient to regasify the LNG using the heat from the surroundings or from the “waste” source of low-potential heat energy. In smalltonnage plants provided with atmospheric evaporators, the cold generated on regasification is not used. Because of rising population of the Earth and environmental problems clean water supply is an urgent task. During operation of the cryogenic liquid evaporator, the moisture freezes on its outer surface. Since significant capital expenditure is not required for utilizing the frozen water, this direction is quite promising for water supply to population of countries located in regions with arid climate.
