Abstract

In seminars of informatics faculties and departments, it is desirable for students to understand how to process programming tools so that they can handle programming errors. Unfortunately, it is hard to examine the understanding of each student in remote learning. The students must more or less learn by themselves. We should consider how to promote individual learning for obtaining learning effects equal to or greater than face-to-face learning. For this purpose, we focused on learning materials that used activity diagrams. We investigated the learning effects in error handling before and after reading learning materials on processing programming tools. After the individual learning by using the materials, the number of correct answers was increased regarding the handling of programming error problems.
