Abstract

Parotid, submandibular and sublingual glands were removed from rats and investigated histochemically. Pyruvate oxidase, iso-citric dehydrogenase, α-ketoglutarate oxidase, succinic dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase and furfuryl alcohol dehydrogenase activity were observed in the salivary ducts which may be interpreted as significant of high metabolic activity.
