Abstract

Objectives: IUDs are among the most effective methods of contraception and are increasingly popular, but fear of insertion pain may be a barrier to use. Few interventions to reduce pain with IUD insertion exist. Our study implemented and evaluated a new nonpharmacological method to reduce patients’ anticipated and experienced pain.
