Abstract

This paper describes utilization of Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) data for grid monitoring and event analysis at State Level in India. It discusses how PMU data can be utilized for Real time as well as Offline analysis of the grid events in Indian context. It presents comparative analysis of occurrence in the grid using SMARTGRID technology like Synchrophasor system and that of traditional systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System(SCADA) alongwith that of Disturbance Records(DRs) of Numerical Relaying system as a case study.
