It focused on 83 cases of inguinal hernia treated by parietal prosthesis in the surgical service “A” of Point G. university Hospital. were included in this study all patients operated on for inguinal hernia (any size hernia, hernia recurrence) who agreed with the technical implementation of a parietal prosthesis. Were not included in the study in patients operated for inguinal hernia service without use of the prosthesis and the patients underwent emergency surgery. Results: Male sex represented 85.50% of cases (n = 71), with a sex ratio of 5.91 in favor. The mean age was 54 ± 17.2 years for the extremes of 20 and 87 years. 34.9% in the study (29 patients) had a history of hernia cure simply by raphy. The dissection of the hernia sac was easy in 70 patients or 84.3% of cases, it was difficult in 13 patients or 15.7% of cases. The hernia sac was buried in 43 patients resected in 40 patients or respective rates of 51.8% and 48.2%. The prosthesis used was polyester type in 97.5% (n = 81). Antibiotic prophylaxis was performed in all patients. The mean operative time was 48.3 minutes with extremes of 25 and 105 minutes. The average length of hospital stay was 1.5 days with a range of 1 day and 5 days.
