Abstract

Edible flowers are the subject of research to obtain sources of bioactive compounds that help prevent and control various diseases. Recent research suggests implementing the consumption of flowers in the diet to obtain health benefits; some possible effects of flower consumption are presented by the activity of antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer and hypoglycemic compounds. Thus, this research focuses on the consumption of this part of the plant for its medicinal implications and nutritional contributions
