Abstract

Cardiac masses are generally incidental findings that are observed during an echocardiography study. Some examples of these could be benign masses like a myxoma (the most documented mass during echocardiography), or fibroelastomas, to primary tumour or metastatic lesions. The echocardiograph is a very useful tool of easy access, which helps to recognise the features of the lesions and their impact on neighbouring structures. It thus offers an estimation of the different diagnostic features of the patient. The echocardiographic findings of the different types of cardiac masses are presented in this article.
