Abstract

“ The writing is on the board” (Figure 1): The USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting in Boulder is a rare opportunity for students, faculty, and researchers in industrial and government labs to present their work in an informal and intellectually stimulating setting. The US National Committee (USNC) is appointed by the National Research Council of the National Academies to represent the US in the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). This meeting is attended by distinguished faculty from major US universities, graduate students, and researchers from national laboratories, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), and the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). The varied technical topics and expertise makes it a fantastic gathering with vibrant - and at times, heated - technical exchanges.
