Abstract

AbstractIn order to reuse an object’s existing behaviors and improve the efficiency of computer animation, a vector-mapping-based motion retargeting method is used in this paper. A virtual arm example is utilized to show the feasibility of this method in solving motion retargeting problem with similar structure and different bone model. Empirical results show that the position and orientation of each joint can be gained only by the end-effector’s position and behavior. This method not only simplifies the control problem, but also realizes the motion retargeting for different roles more easily.Keywordsvector mappingmotion retargetingvirtual arm
