Abstract

An effective campaign technique is to reproduce and editorialize on provisions contained in union constitutions and by‐laws. Clauses authorizing fines, trials of union members, strike authorization procedures, control by the parent organization, the conditions under which strike benefits are paid, and such onerous membership obligations as compulsory attendance at meetings and fines for nonattendance should all be pointed out, and their implications stressed. A suggested preface for communicating information on the union's constitution and by‐laws is.
