Abstract
The CDC estimates that over 100,000 people die from a health care acquired infection each year. Evidence shows that contamination of surfaces plays a role in the transmission of pathogens. Surfaces are being properly disinfected about 50 % of the time. Simulation Centers are used to familiarize staff with procedures in a safe environment. Our objective was to use the Simulation Center as a platform for assessing environmental service workers (ES) for their yearly competency.
