Abstract

The web site, Professional Resources in Nutrition Sciences (PRINS), was developed in the fall of 1998 to provide access to Internet/World Wide Web resources useful to dietetic and nutrition professionals and students. PRINS is a professional rather than consumer-oriented resource, with nearly 2,000 links to information pertaining to the profession. The nutrition-related web sites include: national and state credentialing agencies; job web sites and search engines; mailing list and bulletin board services; nutrition-related organizations on a global scale; professional associations; and professional preparation programs. Other resources include online publications, instructional materials, and software.Key features of PRINS will be showcased, with instructions on how to use the web site effectively for research, networking, career development, and job searching. Also, instructions on how to use PRINS in professional preparation programs to introduce students to the nutrition profession and upon graduation find dietetic internships and jobs.
