Abstract
The BBC micro is here employed as a simple frequency meter: the article describes software and hardware requirements for implementation.A system to implement a simple frequency meter based on the BBC micro has been described. For gate times of 1 s an accuracy of about 1% can be achieved for frequencies above a few 100 Hz. A longer gate time would give a corresponding increase in accuracy. The basic system can be easily expanded to give a versatile piece of instrumentation.
