Abstract

Background: For many patients with high basal FSH or estradiol levels and/or patients with poor responses to gonadotropin stimulation for IVF, identifying an appropriate protocol to achieve an adequate response can be a challenge. Many low responders will stimulate very quickly to high doses of gonadotropins and make few mature follicles or have significant asynchrony in follicle sizes, especially in microdose Lupron protocols. Endogenous late luteal phase FSH levels may drive this asynchrony as well.
