Abstract

This article describes a linked data project of the Rutgers University Law Library. The library uses Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS) to provide subject indexing and enhance information retrieval of military department regulations from disparate systems. This article will give readers a detailed description of how Rutgers University Law Library used SKOS to describe subject classification systems used by military agencies, including how specific tags were selected and the technologies used to convert the data for easier and more consistent retrieval.
