Abstract

ABSTRACTThe quality of the fuel influences the ignition quality of the diesel engines. One of the important properties of marine fuel is the acidity, which in large values erodes the filters and pollutes the elements of the engine that come in contact and should not exceed the value of 0.5 mg KOH/g. In this research paper the acidity of the marine distillate fuel is reduced with the use of crystalline natural zeolite structure at 5% (from 0.239 to 0.228 mg KOH/g; i.e., 0.5% w/v, 5 g zeolite/1000 mL of the fuel).
