The introduction of model technologies into Ruckel Middle School is hoped to: (a) provide teachers with instructional alternatives to prepare students, and (b) help the school be accepted as a Model Technology School by the Florida Department of Education. During the 1988-1989 school year, Ruckel Middle School introduced a collection of software developed by Educational Systems Corporation. This collection consisted of a biological science series, a physical science series, and two remedial series in mathematics and reading. Ruckel also developed a Computer Resource Center (CRC). The CRC was equipped with 20 IBM PS/25 microcomputers and a dot matrix printer networked together through a host (controlling) microcomputer.
