Abstract

ABSTRACT As metering and communications technologies and data presentation applications have advanced over the past decade, more facility managers are turning to interval data for improved energy management of commercial and industrial facilities. Features of presentation software include a variety of features and tools which allow users to view streams of interval data to analyze usage patterns, identify equipment problems, validate monthly utility bills, evaluate rate options, and verify performance of control modifications or energy efficiency measures. This article will discuss several case studies of the application of electric and gas interval data at the utility meter level to evaluate performance of commercial buildings, manufacturing plants, hospitals, and institutional facilities.
