Abstract

Vibronic transitions of a molecular system in solution upon probing with ultrashort laser pulses (<40 fs), often creates coherent oscillations. These are either in the ground or excited state or in both the ground and excited states. Such vibrational coherence or coherent oscillation produced in the ground or excited states are often highly solvent dependent as these are characteristic of confinement and microheterogeneity in liquids.
