This article was derived from the U.S. DOE, Federal Energy Man-agement Program (FEMP) guide of the same name by the editor-in-chief.This “how-to guide” was designed to define distributed energy re-sources (DER) and to assist federal facility and energy managers in as-sessing DER at their facilities.
