Abstract

Java began its journey without the Java Collections Framework The Java Collections Framework was introduced in Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.2 to address the common requirement of a flexible and easy-to-use collection of objects. The Java Collections Framework introduced many classes that are used extensively in most of today’s applications. The java. util package and classes such as ArrayList, HashMap, and LinkedList are all part of the Java Collections Framework.
