Abstract

The authors explore the potential use of an online comprehensive library management system as a collection development tool, illustrate some evaluating techniques that have been developed at St. Cloud State University, and suggest that similar undertakings, ranging from impressionistic assessments to statistical analysis, may be used elsewhere in evaluating and developing a collection or part of a collection, in supporting the teaching/research mission of a university.
