Abstract

An aperture method was developed for investigating the divergence evolution of a laser pulse. With this method, we measured the divergence evolution of output pulse from an injection-locked copper vapor laser with magnification factor M = 10 ( M = 30 for oscillator): the divergence during an output pulse varied from ∼ 1.0 mrad to ∼ 0.12 mrad. The experimental results have been analyzed and discussed.
