Purpose Appendicitis is the most common cause of acute abdomen in children. Few pediatric-specific studies have described the epidemiology and demographic characteristics of this condition. The aim of this study was to use aggregated electronic health record (EHR) data and related analytic tools to describe the incidence and demographic characteristics of acute appendicitis among a large cohort of pediatric patients.
