Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of using advance organizers in the teaching of language functions to prospective teachers of English. The subjects of the study were prospective English language teachers who were divided equally into two groups :the experimental group and the control one. Taught through the suggested approach to the teaching of languge funcutions by using advance organizers,the experimental group students achieved better results than the control group students in performing language functions. Thus,the suggested approach proved to be effective.
