Excerpt: The Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences embraces the contemporary ideal for criminal justice education. It has provided benchmarks that criminal justice education programs should measure themselves against to ensure quality, recommending that the programs conduct outcome assessments as a means of improving themselves over time ( Janeksela & Iacovetta, 1992; Moriarty, 2006).
