Abstract

Background: Following treatment, head and neck cancer patients experience a multitude of problems including speech, swallowing, chewing, tasting and hearing. Consequentially, patients suffer with anxiety, depression and low self-esteem, with effects on relationships and lifestyle. In order to address such problems and improve patient satisfaction, opportunities must be given to express their concerns with members of the MDT during follow-up appointments.
