Abstract

Multisite simulation studies are critical in nursing research as they allow researchers to obtain larger sample sizes, however, many components need to be addressed to ensure adequate compliance with research protocols. Multisite studies are important in research as they help promote generalizability. Many components go into successfully conducting multisite simulation studies. The purpose of this paper is to describe how the four-phase process of planning, project development, study execution, and dissemination of study findings were contributed to the success of this multisite simulation study. Locating sites that met inclusion criteria, keeping consistent communication with all sites, and ensuring that participants strictly follow the research protocol to maintain simulation fidelity were found to be important components of success in multisite studies.
