Abstract

Laser therapy is indicated for the resection of lesions of the main airways. Laser photoresection of larynx and tracheobronchial obstructive processes can be performed with rigid (RB) or flexible bronchoscopes (FFB). We describe the use of the chest laryngoscope holder as an option when performing laser resection of tracheobronchial lesions. Advantages of this technique include the free handling of endoscopic and laser instruments. Our experience in 36 cases of Nd:YAG laser resection performed in this manner is presented. Potential disavantages of this technique are also described.
