Abstract

A three-year-old girl enrolled in a special school for children with developmental disabilities was displaying problematic behavior during nap time. The target behaviors for this intervention included the number of times off-mat as well as inappropriate vocalizations. An intervention that incorporated blocking and a fading technique was utilized to decrease her problem behavior during nap time. The intervention was evaluated using measures of clinical, statistical, and therapeutic significance and was found to have such significance. Additionally, treatment acceptability was assessed. The intervention was determined to be a practical and effective solution to the child's problematic nap time behavior.
