Abstract

Touch screen devices are getting more and more popular as technology advances, performing transactions online through mobile devices is not an exception as well. However, touchscreen devices are small in screen sizes, giving a different feel compared to a computer screen. It was suggested that users need to have more realistic feedback to complement the lack of space on the screen. Research is done with haptic technology, e-commerce and touchscreen devices to know the current problems and proposed a solution to counter the lack of feedback on touchscreen devices. An advanced haptic technology should be implemented to provide the user with a realistic feedback which ease the usage. The main purpose of this study is to know the user's perception on the application of advanced haptic technology implemented on their touchscreen devices. User's feedback on touchscreen devices and their perception about current haptic technologies were collected and analyzed to determine if this proposed solution is well supported by others.
