Abstract

In this paper, departing from perfect knowledge on the channel state information at the base station transmitter, we introduce a novel evolutionary algorithm that is based upon the principles of natural evolution and allows for an optimum mobile user selection in a multi-user multiple-input single-output (MISO) system. The algorithm achieves the maximum sum-rate for given degrees of spatial multiplexing and multi-user diversity. According to optimal or sub-optimal system capacity schemes, the proposed intelligent algorithm selects a user combination for a fixed number of users within few generation iterations. Therefore, our method represents a practical candidate scheme for downlink data transmissions.
