Abstract

During the last several decades many cities around the world have been trying to solve the traffic congestion problem using different strategies. The question that arose is to what extent introducing a dockless shared e-scooter system, improving the infrastructure and defining the legislation for this group of users would contribute to reduced traffic congestion in Belgrade, Serbia. This research was conducted online and distributed as a link via email. Considering that the authors analyzed users’ behaviour in the current situation and in a hypothetical situation, both the stated revealed and stated preference approaches were used. The obtained results show that the application of this set of pull measures, at the most affordable prices for shared e-scooters, would lead to a significant reduction of passenger car usage – 7.4% for commuting trips and 11.4% for trips with other purposes.
