Abstract

The user interface is a key part of a decision support system (DSS). This paper surveys recent theories, tools and techniques from user interface research that has been quite successfully applied to DSS. The paper focuses on techniques for implementing user interfaces, in particular, User Interface Management Systems, which have the potential to allow much faster development of sophisticated user interfaces for DSS.
