Abstract

This paper presents a comparative usability evaluation based on the user experience in two mobile games using a Head Mounted Display device, in the first-person and thirdperson points of view with emphasis on their influence on the sense of embodiment. In addition to usability tests with participants, experiences focused on self-location, agency, and body belonging have also been evaluated. The results show a significant influence of the following aspects on the sense of embodiment: first-person point of view; character’s movement control when in sync with the player’s move; and participant gender.
