Abstract

Developing mobile learning app in Indonesia has its own challenge. It is related to the characteristics of the student which has particular tendencies in learning independence. Taking notice of this case, mobile learning app expected to have an impact on the student's academic performance. As a user-centered design product, a mobile learning app considers user experience aspect to optimise the interaction between users, systems, and the context. This research is a descriptive study with survey method applied to explore perceptions regarding user experience while interacting with the app. Measurements of the perceptions of user experience involve aspects of product performance, psychological aspects of the user, and the aspect of attractiveness (general impressions) that characterise the app. The result shows that users have neutral evaluation toward pragmatic aspect and good evaluation in hedonic aspect while interacting with research object for one month. It also shows that users have low rate learning independence. Furthermore, some specific characteristics of respondents and their learning tendencies are also described, which should be considered in serving Indonesian students in the process of learning.
