Abstract

Acute pain in the right iliac fossa (RIF) is common in children. It can arise from a wide variety of gastrointestinal and genitourinary processes that make up the differential diagnosis with acute appendicitis (AA). In this article, we describe the most representative findings of these processes on ultrasonography (US). We emphasize the characteristics that enable these processes to be differentiated from AA.
