Abstract
Globalization of retailing industry gave birth to mega-sized retailing companies. Wal-Mart of USA is one of such representative multi-national Supercenters. In the case of Korea, establishment of Supercenters such as E-mart and Lotte Mart (Korean brand name) and assertive expansion of its branch outlet network is creating conflict with traditional markets within the region of their presence. This study presents the most preferred factors for win-win growth of the domestic retailing industry by applying the widely used AHP method, and presents usefulness of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) through reliability and validity checking by statistical analysis.
