Abstract

The purpose of this research paper is to explore the use of different images and symbols in Narsinh Mehta's poem To the Thunder of Rain Clouds. Gujarati poet Narsinh Mehta is a well-known historical figure. He is well known for his didactic, religious, and spiritual poems on Lord Krishna. Over the course of his life, he composed about nine hundred padas (feet). Especially his love songs on Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha are very popular in Gujarati culture and literature, which are also known as Shringara Na Pado. In his poems he uses many different symbols, he also uses many images of Lord Krishna. One of them is To the Thunder of Rain Clouds, in which the poet attempts to depict the love of Radha, Gopis and Lord Krishna with using some symbols and images.
