Abstract

The rapid use of commercial unmanned aerial systems (UAS) requires not only the proper adoption regulations but also the process implementation of processes that will allow the UAS integration into air traffic. The UAS implementation in the airport security system assumes the radar ability to find UAS radar tracks and to distinguish them from plane and other airspace entities on a planned flight trajectory. The airports are a very specific environment, but even there are some tasks that could be effectively performed by UAS. This paper deals with three processes: perimeter surveillance, biological protection, and surface control of movement areas. If UASs are an active network element and are connected with ground-based protection elements, are assumed not only an airport operations cost reduction but also a level of security increase. The regular and irregular inspections, a network with ground station deployment establishment and the use of airport radar are the subject of research.
